Terms of service
These terms are the agreement between you and Hairnotes when you use the app at myhairnotes.com. They're written to be read. If something is unclear, email info@myhairnotes.com.
Who we are
Hairnotes is operated by Samuel Couillard, a sole proprietor in Quebec, Canada. "We" and "us" on this page mean him.
Your account
- You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
- An account is for one person. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else got into your account.
- You're responsible for what happens in your account.
Your notes and your clients' information
- What you put in Hairnotes is yours. We store it and show it to you so the app works. We don't sell it, share it for advertising, or claim any rights over it.
- You decide what you write down about your clients. Make sure you're allowed to keep it, especially photos and contact details, the same way you would in a paper card file. Our privacy policy explains how we look after it.
- You can delete your account at any time from your profile. That deletes your clients, notes and photos.
The free plan
The free plan holds up to 100 clients and 500 photos, with unlimited notes. Reaching a limit only stops you from adding new clients or photos. Nothing you already saved is ever locked or deleted.
Hairnotes Pro
- Pro removes the client and photo limits. It costs CA$7 a month or CA$63 a year in Canada, and US$5 a month or US$45 a year in the United States. We don't charge sales tax at the moment; if that changes, we'll email you before it applies.
- Pro is only available in Canada and the United States for now.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. Yearly subscribers get an email reminder before the renewal.
- You can switch from monthly to yearly at any time. You're charged for the year right away, minus the unused part of your month. A switch from yearly to monthly happens at the end of your paid year.
- If we ever change the price, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies to you.
Cancelling and refunds
- You can cancel at any time from "Manage billing" on your plan page. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for, then your account goes back to the free plan. Nothing is deleted.
- Refunds: if you're not happy, email us within 7 days of a payment and we'll refund that payment in full. After 7 days, we don't refund part of a month or year.
- This doesn't take away any refund rights you have under the law where you live.
Fair use
Please don't use Hairnotes to break the law, to store things you have no right to keep, to try to get into other people's accounts, to overload or scrape the app, or to resell it. We may suspend an account that does, and we'll tell you why when we can.
The service
- Hairnotes is run by one person. We work hard to keep it running and your data safe, with continuous backups, but we can't promise it will never be unavailable or never have a bug.
- We may change or improve features. If we ever remove something you pay for, or stop running Hairnotes, we'll tell you ahead of time and make sure you can get your data out.
- To the extent the law allows, Hairnotes is provided as is, and our responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here limits rights that consumer protection law gives you.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email you before the change applies. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and of Canada that apply there.
